It currently costs R5.28 million per year to maintain Helderberg Hospice services. At present we receive 10% of this cost from the Western Cape Department of Health and 90% has to be raised from other various private sources.
While there are many different organisations competing for resources, Helderberg Hospice is the only one of its kind in our area. Palliative care is a feasible and affordable response to the suffering caused by terminal illness and can be implemented promptly.
It is only with your support that we can maintain our services and meet the fundamental right of people to compassionate care and support when they are vulnerable from loss and grief.
